Abstract
Resin akrilik heat cured merupakan bahan yang paling sering digunakan sebagai basis gigi tiuran. Gigi tiruan dapat dibersihkan dengan cara direndam dalam larutan disinfektan salah satunya sodium hipoklorit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh perendaman resin akrilik heat cured dalam larutan sodium hipoklorit terhadap kekuatan transversal yang dimilikinya. Penelitian ini menggunakan 24 sampel lempeng akrilik heat cured berukuran panjang 65 mm lebar 10 mm dan tebal 2,5 mm. Sampel dibagi menjadi 4 kelompok dimana satu kelompok terdiri dari 6 lempeng akrilik. Sampel pada 4 kelompok tersebut direndam dengan sodium hipoklorit 1% dan air selama 8 jam dan 24 jam dalam waktu 7 hari. Kekuatan transversal lempeng akrilik akan diuji menggunakan universal testing machine. Data yang didapat dilakukan analisis statistik dengan ANOVA, hasil yang didapat tidak terdapat perubahan yang signifikan pada kekuatan transversal lempeng akrilik. Disimpulkan bahwa larutan sodium hipoklorit tidak memberikan perubahan pada kekuatan transversal resin akrilik heat cured.
